Visit Toronto Knits

I wanted to drop you a line and let you know about some of the awesome improvements we've made at You may have noticed we recently unveiled a refreshing new look for Toronto Knits. The logo was redesigned to better illustrate our offerings, and the colours were strengthened, lending our brand greater impact. We've also revised and improved our main offerings, namely:

Store Directory

  1. We've now pre-populated the directory with all yarn stores we know of that are currently open & operating out of a physical location in the Greater Toronto Area! What we need now? MORE INFORMATION! Visit and search for your store today to upgrade your listing. Not in there yet? Sign up here.
  2. Terminology simplication. We have updated the terminology of the directory so that it makes more sense as you browse and update your listings. We wanted to make sure the Directory is as clear as possible. Please e-mail us with any suggested improvements.
  3. In simplifying our terminology, we want to make sure we don't JUST have "Yarn Stores" in our directory. We're also looking for knitter's studios, galleries that hold fibre-arts related workshops, farms that produce yarn - these are just some ideas for the types of businesses we continue to add to the Directory. Got something other than a yarn store? Post a FREE or Premium Listing today. (Just as a reminder, if you post a premium Listing, you get unlimited access to post Events in our Calendar for the duration of your subscription).

We've installed a better calendar, which means a number of things:

  1. Crafters can now subscribe to our calendar in their favourite calendar program using our handy, automatically-updated iCAL feed.
  2. As an owner of a store or studio with a physical location, as soon as you upgrade to a paid listing, you will be able to enter your store's address as an Event Location, and post as many events as you want. Keep crafters in Toronto up-to-date on upcoming classes, store sales, fairs you'll be exhibiting at, and more!
  3. Any newly posted Events are automatically cross-published to our Facebook, G+, Twitter, Tumblr & LinkedIn social media profiles - equating to the greatest possible reach for your Events!
  4. To demonstrate how fantastic our calendar is, we've already populated it with community-based events at various branches of the Toronto Public Library.

  1. We renamed our Buy & Sell section to Classifieds. This seemed like a better fit for our goals, which include not only having crafters post their used fibre arts stuff for sale, but also promote their websites, blogs, online stores and job postings to other Toronto fibre artists.
  2. Free Classifieds ads will now be published for 35 days, instead of only 10.
  3. It's now cheaper to FEATURE your listings in our Classifieds.
  4. There's a new Gigs for Fibre Artists section for posting job ads to! Take advantage while this section is still free!

That's all for now. Hope to see you at Toronto Knits soon!
